GROUP PURPOSE
The purpose of our group is to create imaginative artistic interpretations for single word, seemingly random prompts. Artists are encouraged to try new ideas, styles and techniques, but above all, have fun with it! We look forward to enjoying each others' unique take on things!
HOW IT WORKS
Approximately every 8 weeks a prompt is announced. Members will submit resulting deviations to the club gallery by the given deadline, and enjoy what everybody came up with. At the end of each prompt cycle, we will vote on our favorite deviation. Of course the main reward is our experience, however, we do have additional incentives! The winning deviation gets a 3 month dA subscription, a feature in the group's journal, and gets to choose the next prompt!
JOINING
1. Note the club saying that you want to join (Please put "join" in the subject.)
2. Display the group icon in your journals,
i.e. : iconresponsetoprompts : =
(without the spaces)
3. Add us to your watch list!
HOW TO SUBMIT TO ResponseToPrompts
1. Post your deviation to your gallery as usual. The prompt word must be the title of your work. Please include a comment that it is for ResponseToPrompts.
2. Send the link to the deviation with a note to ResponseToPrompts titled "submission". Do not link to the ResponseToPrompts main page.
3. Submission notes must include "Permission to post this work is given to ResponseToPrompts (or group icon) gallery"
Full credit and linkage back to your deviation will be given.

QUESTION Do we need more time for this prompt? I still have only one submission, though I know at least a couple of you are working on something (me too...) Would one more week help? PLEASE give me feedback!Announcing our third prompt!
As our second prompt winner

has named our third prompt:
tabescent
Yeah...I had to look it up too! But it immediately got me thinking, so I hope it will inspire you all too! Be as imaginative or literal as you wish, use any medium, make it any size. Just remember a few things:
1.
All work submitted must be "titled" with the prompt (In this case, "Tabescent.")2. Add a comment to your "artist's comments" on the deviation
that it is for ResponseToPrompts Group (or give a link/icon to the group.)
3.
To submit a deviation, send a note to the group, include "submission" in your title. Include a link to your deviation and a statement allowing us to post it to our gallery, or such a statement on the deviation itself. We will give full credit to you and a link back to your deviation.
4. You may submit any time before the deadline, but we will not post work here until the voting opens. You may want to wait until just before the deadline to post and submit your work to keep it a surprise, or you may need to do it early to make sure it gets in on time.
5. Work may be submitted after the deadline and will be added to the gallery, but will no qualify to be voted on.
6. All members are needed to vote on their favorite deviations whether they submitted work or not. No voting on your own work though.

Because this is such a busy time of year, I have pushed the deadline well into January. <EDIT> And two weeks later now! Let me know if you think we'll need more time.
The submission deadline is January 31, 2008 at Midnight PST.
Voting will open as soon as we have the deviations prepared, and will close about a week later (TBA).
If you have any questions, please comment/note to us. We are building a "FAQ" page!
Good luck and have fun! Also, please remember our Club ID/icon contest! More info below...
Side Contest: our club icon

Hi!

I'm adding a side contest to our prompt...See that yucky looking icon we have? Yeah, I know. Pretty bad. So we really need something stylish, snazzy, more appropriate to our group that can be used as an ID and icon. Something you can be proud to flaunt on your dA page!
I am not setting a deadline on this, but will give "two weeks notice" before closing submissions. Then we (the members) can choose one to represent us.
Submission guidelines are the same as for the prompts.

Something with square dimensions will make it easier to turn into an icon. (Please leave it full size until one is chosen!) Keep in consideration while making it that we will use it full size for the ID(no more than 400 pixels wide) and 50x50 for the icon. Check and see if it works at the smaller size, or we may use just a section of the full piece.

Title the ID deviation "ResponseToPrompts" and the note "ID." The winning artist will receive a 3 month dA subscription, a feature, and bragging rights.

Captain Paul Rice: "Tell me about your ship, Riker. It's the Enterprise, isn't it?"
Commander Riker: "No, the name of my ship is the Lollipop."
Rice: "I have no knowledge of that ship."
Riker: "It's just been commissioned. It's a good ship."
